HIGHWAYS, ENGLAND

The A1 Trunk Road (A645 Slip Roads and A162 Slip Roads) (Detrunking) Order 2001

  Made 24th August 2001 
  Coming into force 13th November 2001 

The Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980[1] and now vested in him[2], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf - 

     1. This Order may be cited as The A1 Trunk Road (A645 Slip Roads and A162 Slip Roads) (Detrunking) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 13th November 2001.

    
2. In this Order - 

     3. The A1 Slip Roads described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad hatching on the plan shall cease to be trunk road and shall be classified as classified road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the North Yorkshire County Council and the Wakefield Metropolitan District Council and that motorway and connecting roads are open for traffic.

THE SCHEDULE

LENGTH OF THE TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE A TRUNK ROAD


     1. In the Metropolitan District of Wakefield, the A1 northbound entry and the northbound exit slip road from its junction with the western boundary of the trunk road A1 (marked "A" on plan No. 1) to its junction with the northern boundary of the A645 (marked "B" on plan No. 1).

     2. In the Metropolitan District of Wakefield, the A1 southbound entry and the southbound exit slip road from its junction with the eastern boundary of the trunk road A1 (marked "C" on plan No. 1) to its junction with the northern boundary of the A645 (marked "D" on plan No. 1).

     3. In the District of Selby in the County of North Yorkshire, the A1 northbound exit slip road from its junction with the western boundary of the trunk road A1 (marked "A" on plan No. 2) to its junction with the western boundary of the A162 (marked "B" on plan No. 2).

     4. In the District of Selby in the County of North Yorkshire, the A1 southbound entry slip road from its junction with the A162 (marked "C" on plan No. 2) to its junction with the eastern boundary of the trunk road A1 (marked "D" on plan No. 2).
